ASDA
Aims & Objectives:
ASDA group PLC aims is to provide
goods and services that are cheap and affordable to the public. Reducing
packaging is one of ASDA's key objectives and they are considering every option
to achieve this goal.
It intends to increase the amount
of fresh products sold loose from boxes and reduce its range of own label
pre-packed products sold in its stores across the country is key objective.
To offer quality products at low
price to increase their customer is another aim of ASDA. In order to cover this
aim they buy products from highly competitive supplier.
I have checked the performance
ASDA from a website and I found ASDA’s sales growing at the fastest rate of the
top four supermarkets. It means that ASDA has increased its customers by
offering quality products at low price. They might have done other methods to
increase their sale like advertising, loyalty card etc. But they have met their aim of increasing
customers.
ASDA had managed to grow both
price and quality perception at the same time retailers tends to do one, but
not both at once. ASDA’s actual price gap over competitors is now almost twice
the level it was in 2008. On quality, own label market share growth has
outperformed the rest of the big four in 2011. It means that ADSA meeting its
aims of providing own labelled products and providing the quality products at
low prices. ASDA might be meeting this aim by buying products from highly competitive
supplier.
Fourth quarter expenses grew
slower than sales and, when excluding Netto, ASDA’s expenses declined from last
year. ASDA’s “We Operate for Less” program has a history of successful savings
and enabled ASDA to invest in a higher level of customer service during the
holiday period. That a great way to keep your prices lower as ASDS’s expenses
declined which mean they don’t need to increase their prices. By reducing their
expenses ASDA can easily provide cheap and affordable goods to public.
The performance report make me
understood that ASDA is meeting its some the aims like providing quality
products at low prices. As they have reduced their expenses to keep their
prices lower. They have doubled their sales in last year by providing cheap and
affordable products. But there is something which ASDA can do to meet their
aims more perfectly.
I think ASDA can start loyalty
card and rewards programmes on buying goods regularly from them. It will not
only bring customers towards ASDA as well as it will helps to make their
customers loyal. After get that ASDA can
easily increase its sales and profit.
ASDA should buy goods in bulk
from same supplier to get goods price cheaper. It will help to keep their sale
price lower which is their major aim.
Overall ASDA is covering his most
of the aims perfectly as it shown in performance report.
